Heart Trouble

Jane Vollbrecht

Jackie Frackman is a consultant for a human resources firm based in Washington, D.C. Her job keeps her on the road much of the time delivering seminars, but she’s grateful for the diversion. Her mother’s death a few years earlier threw her family life into chaos. Her distress was further compounded when the only woman she’d ever loved backed out on their relationship. If it weren’t for her job, Jackie would have little with which to fill her days.

Beth Novatny, rising managerial star in an office supply company in Atlanta, Georgia, is drowning in her deeply unsatisfying relationship with Sharon Chisholm. When Beth and Jackie meet in a seminar Jackie teaches, the mutual attraction is undeniable. Jackie and Beth acknowledge their love, but their happy life together is blocked by Beth’s difficulties in extracting herself from her union with Sharon. As time goes by, there is one problem after another, though Jackie does her best to believe in a future with Beth.

Can Beth break free from Sharon? And can Jackie maintain the conviction in her heart to wait until Beth is finally hers alone? Or will they only succeed in generating the worst trouble of all – Heart Trouble.
