The world of boxing is traditionally reserved for men, but Katherine Sinclair wants to become the best at the sport her adopted father taught her from a very young age.

She grows up in a small town, yearning to branch out and discover new worlds. However, she marries at eighteen and gives birth to twins. Soon, she discovers the she cannot be a good mother or wife because she feels imprisoned and suffocated in the traditional woman’s role.

She escapes to Chicago, where she attempts to become a female boxer. Illness and challenge follow, leading ultimately to a confrontation with the kind of woman she should be and hopes to become.
