It housed the women lovely women, ugly women, tall women, short women, good women, evil, women all women entirely surrounded by men. Barbed wire fenced in the girls. No barbed wire in this or any world could hold them back. They got past the wire to the urgent soldiers and the island pulse began to pound. Nations and kings were falling all around, but in Hawaii each woman was a queen.
