Letting Go
Ann O’Leary
——
Deborah Peifer of the Bay Area Reporter
Laura is a beautiful, successful woman who has everything she needs, except a lover. Her painful memories of her previous relationship, however, make her think that true love and monogamous bliss are not for her. Lucky thing, because Kelly, a woman-in-every-port kind of gal, believes that Laura is just right to fill her occasional empty evenings.
…Ann O’Leary takes a fairly predictable situation and shakes it up very nicely, offering more than a few twists on an old story. Better than her plot twists, however, are her very well-developed characters. I especially enjoyed the baby dyke, whose puppy love reminded me of a time very long ago. With some laughs and a few tears, Letting Go is a pleasurable read that will open your eyes or bring back memories–or maybe both.
