The One That Got Away by Carol Rosenfeld

Bambi 'b.d.' Devine is a bridal consultant navigating a late-in-life awakening after finally admitting her sexuality to her unsurprised social circle. Her newfound clarity leads her to Bridget McKnight, a woman who appears perfect in every way except for the fact that she is already partnered with Natalie Lamont. However, gossip regarding Natalie’s suspicious closeness with a fellow member of a lesbian mycological society suggests their relationship may be fracturing. Encouraged by her boss’s colorful advice, b.d. attempts to navigate the complexities of unrequited desire and urban queer dating, hoping the shifting dynamics of the local scene will finally grant her a chance with the woman she loves.
