Murder at the Nightwood Bar by Katherine V. Forrest

‘Most of us are gray people who just make our way through life. And then some of us are like Dory. I know she’s what Shakespeare thought about when he wrote that phrase – she was life’s bright fire.’

But Dory is dead. Found lying in the parking lot of a lesbian bar, her white-blonde hair ruffled by the gentle breezes of a June evening.

For homicide detective Kate Delafield, a look into the bewildered silver-blue eyes of the murdered girl is the start of a terrifying journey.

A journey first to the gay city of West Hollywood where Kate uncovers shocking facts about the brief life of the murdered woman.

Then an emotional trek fighting against the uncooperative silence from Dory’s parents and the hostile women who should be Dory’s friends – the lesbians who frequent the Nightwood Bar.

Emotions run high in Kate’s private life as well, with Kate see-sawing in and out of love…
