Cry, Voidbringer by Elaine Ho

A dark epic fantasy about cycles of violence between two oppressed groups: the Faceless, slave-soldiers, and the godchildren, who wield divine powers. It follows Hammer, a young Faceless woman, and Viridian, a godchild who develops a deadly ability that could shift the balance of power between kingdoms, through betrayal and vengeance. Much of the cast is queer, including Hammer, whose former lover Naias is now the queen's lover.
