Venus Vendetta by Rose Pry

Virginia: 1972. Reggie, age six, and Jazz, age four, are 'saved' from a commune by a religious cult. Four years later the two escape, with young Reggie wreaking a terrible vengeance on one 'savior' in particular. Las Vegas: 1999. Reggie and Jazz have found their way to a home for themselves. Reggie befriends Gillian Waters, a writer of suspense fiction who is lost in mourning the death of her partner. Gillian discovers that Reggie is enmeshed with an online organization called Poetic Justice--women united by common scars of childhood sexual abuse. When Reggie disappears, leaving a mysterious trail of clues hinting she may be in jeopardy, Gillian joins with Jazz in pursuit of her, and enlists private investigator Rachel Bracken. What they uncover is a plan of the utmost intricacy, global in its reach, urgent in its ambition, lethal in its risks, unfolding with speed and diabolical cunning. Its targets are many, and include a famous televangelist with a deeply held secret. This powerful and resourceful man is well-protected against any threat to himself and to his empire and will stop at nothing to preserve it all. The Venus Vendetta is a mystery-thriller you won't put down.
