A Language of Limbs by Dylin Hardcastle

Good, 4 stars

Newcastle, Australia, 1972: two teenage girls each face a choice about their desire for their best friend. In one life, a girl is caught kissing her friend, thrown out by her father, and finds a new family at Uranian House, a queer communal home in Sydney. In the other, a girl suppresses her feelings and goes to university to study English literature. Told in alternating chapters, Limb One and Limb Two, the two women nearly cross paths at key moments over three decades, through Australia's first Mardi Gras and the AIDS crisis, until their lives finally meet.
