Obie-winning performer and writer Peggy Shaw, co-founder of Split Britches, has toured her gender-bending solo work for three decades. This collection of her scripts includes Menopausal Gentleman, about a 54-year-old grandmother who looks like a 35-year-old man; You’re Just Like My Father, about a mother raising a daughter like a son; To My Chagrin, about her love for her biracial grandson; and Must: The Inside Story, a map of her body’s history made with the UK’s Clod Ensemble, along with other monologues about growing up butch in the 1950s, her Irish-American working-class roots and her aging butch body.
