Cartoon history of women’s half of history. Contains a lot of solid information put over in a humorous manner, but the inevitable comparison with 1066 aad all that probably does it a disservice, for this is not a book of the misunderstood and badly remembered “facts of English history” but the facts about women we have never had access to in the first place. It’s full of information on strong, independent women: hopefully they will make as strong an impact on the reader as the cartoons and humour.
