Azinlik Ic̦inde Bir Azinlik Islam Ve Eșcinsellik Arasina Sikișab Almanya Türkleri
Abdurrahman Akyazan
We have published this book by updating my Master’s thesis that I completed at Eötvös Lorând University in 2015. In this study, we tried to examine the identity conflicts of Muslim and gay Turks living in Germany and how they enter into an identity construction process amidst this conflict. The subject was examined under the titles of the situation of Turks in Germany, Islam and homosexuality and identity process theory and in this context, interviews were conducted with 11 Muslim Turks living in Germany who are gay and the subject was analyzed.
Although Muslim homosexuals are an interesting subject, they are one of the least researched areas. Although some studies have been conducted on these people, much less studies have been conducted on Muslim homosexuals of immigrant origin living in Western Europe. For this reason, I am sure that it will be a unique resource for students who are studying migration, social psychology, sociology or Turks living in Germany.
I believe that people living in Turkey who are stuck between East and West identities will find a piece of themselves in this study, which examines the identity conflict experienced by these people who are stuck between their religious, ethnic and sexual identities.
