Dani Forrest can't put her finger on what's wrong with her ship - the usually reliable UCSS Boadicea - or her Minority Fleet crew. Both are behaving erratically, and that's worrying her.

She had hoped to figure it out on shore leave, but her orders have changed, and now she's trying to resolve the mysterious disappearance of a Khrar warship while simultaneously avoiding intergallactic war.

Enter the beautiful and suspicious Captain Ki of the Interstellar Alliance ship Heaven's Bow. What she knows - and what she claims not to know - make Dani very skeptical. All this would be easier to take if Dani's always-dependable First Officer, the intersexual Ma'at, hadn't vanished on a simple reconaissance mission to a small planetoid.

This first Minority Fleet adventure introduces the reader to the rainbow assortment of Commander Forrest's crew, and certainly goes 'where no lesbian fiction has been before'!
