Deadly Gamble by Diane Davidson

Las Vegas- city of bright lights and dark secrets-is the perfect setting for this intriguing sequel to DEADLY RENDEZVOUS.

Former police detective Toni Underwood is catapulted back into the world of crime by a mysterious letter from a favorite aunt. Black sheep of the family and a prominent madam, Vera Valentine fears she is about to be murdered-a distinct possibility, given her underworld connections.

With the help of onetime partner(and possibly future lover) Sergent Sally Murphy, Toni takes on the seamy, ruthless underbelly of Las Vegas, where appearance and reality are often at odds. Flamboyant characters and unsavory thugs make for a cast of likely suspects...and keep the reader guessing until the last page.
