Desert Hawk by Katherine E. Standell

Alone in the Saudi desert, Captain Dylan Hunt fought a nightmare. After the destruction of her training unit, she is given up for dead. But this soldier isn't dead. Like the phoenix, she rises from the ashes. Now, she has dedicated her life to the death of her enemies.

For years, stories have spread... strange tales of a mysterious spirit that haunts the deserts of Saudi Arabia. Soldiers and civilians alike speak in hushed tones of the vengeful spirit that protects a barren place in the hot sands.

Lura Grant, whose days of freedom from her wealthy Virginia family are nearly over, has finally been given her dream assignment: solve the mystery of the Desert Hawk.
