Elephant Poem Coloring Book
Judy Grahn
Grahn uses the elephant as a symbol of domination and how you can’t expect the dominating one to stop on his own ‘Any more than bankers hand out money. or police put away their pistols.’ The policeman is portrayed as a pig in uniform. The only way to stop it is for everyone to work together. This poem is from Grahn’s first book of poetry ‘Edward the Dyke’ published the year before.
