Every Sweet Thing Is Bitter by Samantha Crewson

Thirteen years ago, seventeen-year-old Providence Byrd put the family car in reverse and ran over her mother. Her mother survived, but Providence became a felon. When her mother later vanishes under suspicious circumstances, Providence returns to her hometown after a long estrangement, telling herself she wants closure but also intending to confront her abusive father, Tom Byrd, whom she is certain is to blame. As the search goes on she must face her own past and her younger sisters, Harmony and Grace, each marked by what she did. The publisher describes Providence as a resilient queer woman.
