Fall Through the Sky by Jennifer DiMarco

Tyger. Six foot two, half-woman, half-beast with way too much attitude.

For years, she'd lied to the Windriders, promising freedom but selling them into slavery instead. Finally, she could continue the Allegiance's work no longer. Joined by four freed slaves and an ex-Allegiance soldier, the Windriders are drawn into a frightening mystery.

The Land of Sky -- beautiful, magical -- embraces the weary travelers. But not all of Sky's inhabitants are enthusiastic about the newcomers. Tyger's arrival foretells the dawn of a new era, and although many see the signs, they are interpreted differently. All too soon Tyger finds herself at the center of controversy and danger. Haunted by ancient magic and confronted with bizarre religious plots, Tyger must unlock the secrets of Sky.
