Girls In Uniform by Christa Winsloe

Girls In Uniform

A Play in Three Acts

Christa Winsloe

Play in three acts on which the film ‘Mädchen in Uniform’ was based.

Beautifully written drama in three acts – all female cast set in the best private school for girls in Prussia.

The play’s heroine is Manuela, a sensitive girl, who falls in love with one of her instructors.

It is never vulgar always intense and based on Christa Winsloe’s own experience at a strict Prussian school for privileged girls. She went on to marry an aristocrat and then, in a brave resolution, declare herself a lesbian and go on to live the rest of her life as an openly gay individual.
