Green Girls by Donewell

Green Girls

Donewell

From the Annals of the Victorian Underground.

Adelina and Paul Mirzan, sister and brother, are one day discovered by their parents in the act of pursuing their natural inquisitiveness. Through the efforts of the lascivious Abbe, their tutor, the two precocious adolescents are hastily dispatched to boarding schools, Adelina to Paris, Paul to London.

Mademoiselle Mirzan finds the establishment run by the Misses Geraud to be much to her liking and she details all her adventures – with e faculty, the headmistresses, her classmates, and the Chaplain – to her far-off brother in a series of candid, spirited letters which describe her most personal pleasures.

The reader can trace Adelina’s rise from a ‘new girl’ to a member of the school’s elite corps, the Red Girls, a sorority bound to the occult and the lash. As Adelina matures under the stern hand of the Misses Geraud, she comes to appreciate the many types of love.

First Line(s)

Profound silence pervaded the house of Mirzan at Chartres and nothing betrayed the discovery of the sad adventure which had happened within its walls. No sound of voices revealed the explosion of anger which emanated from Mr. Francis Mirzan when, called by his wife, he surprised his two children, Paul and Adeline, in the very act of libertinism.
