This story takes place two hundred years later. In this book, Sair, fleeing from the Shokarn city of Eezore, is rescued by the Hadra and tells her account of becoming a part of their strange and surprising world.

-------

The Hadra are the wild, passionate, self-reliant, untamed women we would like to be and sometimes are. Born with powers, they can speak mind-to-mind with each other; communicate with animals, especially their beloved horses; and defend themselves by returning harm to the sender. In spite of being under assault by jealous rulers, they create their own cities and settlements, and shape their own unique culture that speaks to us of possibilities. Follow their adventures in these books as they ride out to protect their way of life, challenging the old ways and creating new hope in the world.
