Pam Nilsen and her sister have inherited a print shop in Seattle, which they now run as a collective. Through various unfortunate turns of events, Nilsen finds herself in a position to investigate murder in the leftwing women’s community.
Pam is determined to uncover the truth, however disturbing. No one is free of suspicion. The Filipino resistance movement, the CIA, a drunken feminist on a binge, a fugitive in the attic, arms running, blackmail and a pair of unusual contact lenses are all involved before the mystery can be solved. And in the hunt for the killer, everyone is forced to reassess their politics and their love life.
