Synopsis

When 16 year old Chloe’s parents announce they’re splitting up it’s bad enough, but when her mum says it’s because she’s fallen in love with another woman, Chloe wants the ground to open up and swallow her. Trying to get her head round her mum’s sudden change of sexual orientation – as well as her new and overbearing girlfriend – is tough. And Chloe’s dad doesn’t help when he starts to go off the rails. Real life stinks! Thank god there’s somewhere Chloe can go when it all gets too much: her rich and vivid fanatsy world. Oh yes, Rikki Lake always makes time to listen to her. And the documentary crew that’s following her around, they’re rooting for Chloe, too. And as for Dr Freud, well he always comes up with a solution or two, even if she can’t understand a word he says! Eventually, Chloe comes to terms with her mum’s new life, and Dad finally pulls himself together, which only leaves Chloe’s own romantic future to worry about. Will she ever pluck up the courage to tell her best friend Jake how she really feels about him? And will he feel the same…
