No Escape by Nancy Sanra

Evil lurks on the streets of San Francisco. Late one rain-drenched night, nurse Melinda Morgan is murdered in her bed - throat cut, scalpel plunged into her heart, a single red rose left on her bosom. Tally McGuiness and the Phoenix Detective Agency are called into action when the victim’s lover, Dr Rebecca Toliver, is charged with the murder. The police believe that she is a copycat killer: the rose is the murder signature of the infamous psychopath, Marcia Cox. Together the tenacious trio of Tally, Cid and Katie must muster all their expertise to uncover the shocking secrets behind the grisly murder. As Marcia Cox plays cat-and-mouse with the police she issues an ultimatum: capture the copycat killer, or Tally’s lover, Katie, will die.
