North and Left From Here includes a series of often poignant flashbacks set in the Spanish town of Mallorca, the island of Ibiza and the sand dunes of the Algerian desert. Through these ‘snapshots of memory,’ the reader is made privy to the experiences that have brought Alex to this point in her life.
Now in her early thirties, Alex is comfortable with her sexuality; yet she is cognisant of the fact that her relationships with women have, indeed, altered the course of her life. By remembering and reliving the special moments in her life so far, Alex is forced to recognize how choices made, some not so judicious, have affected her.
