Old Dyke Tales
Lee Lynch
“Talk to me,” commanded Roxy. “It’ll make the waiting easier.”
“Roxy, Roxy,” Her slightest look was intoxicating to Sally.
“Talk to me, sweet Sal.”
“How’s your cat?”Sally croaked.
“Ol ‘Orange Blossom? She’s as sweet as you. When I can’t be with you, she curls up against me under the cover and purrs your name all night.”
Oh my God, Sally thought. This woman can’t be for real. Does she really feel this much for me? If she does, why aren’t we talking about leaving our lovers?
“How about Spot?” Roxy asked, moving a little further toward the end of the bridge.
Sally couldn’t for the life of her think of anything romantic to say about her dog. “He doesn’t understand why I don’t come home as early nights.”
Roxy laid her hand on Sally’s thigh. “Where are you going nights, sweet Sal?’ she asked provocatively.
