Writers, activists, essayists and artists consider how Asian American racial identity and queer sexuality shape and complicate each other at the turn of the century. Drawing together visual art, fiction, community organizing, scholarship and roundtable discussions, the collection gathers the voices of an emerging queer Asian America. The contributors argue that Asian American studies must attend more closely to sexuality, and queer studies to race and ethnicity, and the editors reject the idea that queer Asian Americans should remain ‘queer houseguests’ in a queer nation.
