Roya Marsh's second collection explores Black anger and Black healing, with an emphasis on community action and self-care, especially for Black women. Shifting between dense prose poems and lyric verse, the poems take on policing, gentrification, queer identity, elections and pop culture, holding society to account for its treatment of Black lives while celebrating the endurance and joy that persist.
