While recovering from a hysterectomy, Poppy Koslowski is suddenly dragged back to North Carolina to deal with her estranged, alcoholic grandfather who is nearing death. Returning to her complicated family, Poppy is thrust into a whirlwind of emotional reckonings, eccentric medical consultations, and encounters with an old flame.
