Film noir-dark and erotic, with a beautiful LA docent turned sleuth. The dialogue crackles with the electricity of passion and, possibly, a murder most foul.
--
An erotic mystery probing the dangers of counterfeit passions in the city of fallen angels, Smokescreen is a haunting tribute to the terminal contours of night and the hard-boiled women who thrive on the edge. Mercedes Martini is lured into an intricate web of deception when her actress friend, Mona Lisa, disappears. From downtown taxi-dancing joints to tony Bel Air, to Derringer, the underground lesbian nightclub in West Hollywood, Mercedes searches for answers. Has Mona Lisa been kidnapped... or murdered?
