Marla Brettschneider challenges the normative heterosexual family from feminist, Jewish and queer perspectives. Drawing on her own Jewish, multiracial, adoptive, queer family, she weaves personal experience with political analysis of how race, gender, sexuality and class shape family politics in the United States, using critical race theory, feminism, class analysis and queer theory to offer a distinctly Jewish contribution to the family debates and to justice politics.
