Harriet Pearl and Bunny Silver work for CSW (Caribbean Sea Watch). Their dreams of reaching full agent status have been thwarted by Victor Stillwell who knows that women – and these two in particular – simply can’t cut it as foreign agents. Once and for all he will convince his superior officers of that fact by giving Harriet and Bunny a major assignment which will award them full agent status – if they survive, much less succeed.

They are to investigate the highly suspicious activities of career diplomat Alan Turner on the Caribbean island nation of Los Pagos. In order to carry out this mission, they will travel under cover of great wealth, and must win the trust of the ruling General Hosada’s wife, Maria, who has a decided weakness for blond, delicate young men – men who look exactly like Harriet would look if Harriet were a man…

Stillwell hurls his challenge: Can Harriet pose as a man and carry it off? Can both Bunny and Harriet successfully pose as husband and wife, as wealthy Mr. And Mrs. Pearl from Cleveland, and get the definite goods on Alan Turner?

Join The Pearls on this assignment filled with glamorous adventure and peril, where, in their roles as “husband and wife,” they will discover much more about each other than they ever bargained for…
