From the painful rectitude of the militantly political to the sensuous circle of mystical white witches, and on to the wild ‘Wimmin’s Music Festival” (where there is a near-riot over separate seating for those who eat organically and those who eat Twinkies), Tretona discovers the lesbian world to be as baffling as any other, even while she discovers at last the great solace of having a community of one’s own.
