Vastly More Than That by Guy Kettelhack

Recovery, yes, but recovery of what? For gay men and lesbians overcoming addiction — whether to alcohol, drugs, food, sex, or unhealthy relationships — the answer may be as complex and as difficult to grasp as the problem itself. With the insight and empathy of one who has been there, Guy Kettelhack guides the reader along the inward journey that lesbians and gay men must make as they battle compulsive behavior and addiction. His book highlights issues unique to gay men and lesbians in recovery — many of whom must confront crippling self-hatred — as well as particularly creative approaches to recovery that have emerged from the wildly diverse gay and lesbian “community.”

A thoughtful map of the challenges, triumphs, and setbacks that mark the road to recovery, Vastly More Than That offers encouragement and inspiration for those who are making the journey.
