The fourth in the highly successful Meg Darcy Mystery series. PI Meg Darcy reluctantly agrees to take on what looks like a simple adoption query. The case turns complicated when Meg finds that the birth mother’s murder eight years ago remains unsolved, and the cop who led the investigation is now the child’s adoptive father. Just who killed the teenage Mom and left her body frozen in a pile of trash? And why is the police file so thin? Meg enlists the aid of her lover, police detective Sarah Lindstrom, as well as her best friend, Patrick. Soon it becomes obvious that some powerful people don’t want them digging up the past. With their romantic relationship long blowing hot and cold, Meg has some issues to work out with Lindstrom as well – not that easy for two people who seem to lack basic communication skills.<\/div>\n
