A Matter of Justice tells the often poignant stories of lesbian and gay criminal justice personnel. All too often, these men and women are caught in an almost impossible bind–they are not accepted by the criminal justice community because of being lesbian or gay, and because they are criminal justice personnel, they are not accepted by lesbians and gay men. Written by a past liaison between the Miami Beach Police Department and the lesbian, gay and bisexual community, A Matter of Justice highlights the paradoxes and difficulties faced by these men and women. It portrays the diversity as well as similarities of their experiences, it relates how they came to work in criminal justice, and it shares their experiences within the criminal justice community as well as within the lesbian and gay community. This volume will go a long way to helping to overcome the stigmatization faced by lesbians and gay men who have pursued careers in a profession from which they have been traditionally viewed as outsiders.<\/div>\n
