This is a captivating mystery novel in which someone will do anything to keep the past in the past. Archaeologist Delia Ironfoot is called back to her father’s home, a place she has never been comfortable in, to investigate a Native American burial mound on her grandfather’s land. But the long-dead bones hold modern secrets – secrets that someone wants buried forever. Delia Ironfoot hasn’t practised archaeology in years, not since she was accused of fraud and lost her university tenure. She has since made her way as a wilderness guide and is surprised when her estranged grandfather asks her to return to her father’s native Arkansas to excavate a burial mound on his farm. Delia is more comfortable with her Najavo side, but family is family and she reluctantly agrees. Delia finds unexpected allies in the form of Kate Treadaway from the local university, a tempestuous red-haired young woman who was inspired by Delia’s past exploits, and Colleen Redfield, a bone expert. But modern secrets are buried with old bones and as Delia excavates, the threats she receives escalate until her life and lives if those she cares about are on the line.<\/p>\n
