Basically, they &#8220;confess&#8221; who they are\u2014not just through their lyrics, but simply by being part of this workshop. Their level of openness varies wildly; some are more guarded and subtle, while others go all out.<\/p>\n<p>Most of these writers don&#8217;t just come out and describe their queer identities directly. Instead, they use different characters and stories to hint at or evoke those feelings. They take the &#8220;confessional&#8221; vibe of traditional poetry but change it up\u2014either by packing in queer themes or thinning them out.
