Fake dating, clearly defined, with an expiration date built in.\n\n\n\n\n\nExcept Vegas is small in ways that matter. The McHenry family is larger than expected in ways that matter. The more nights Mara spends in Victoria’s space, the more the pretense starts feeling like something else\u2014like she’s actually showing up for someone instead of performing. Victoria stops being a problem to solve and becomes the thing Mara doesn’t want to lose. The performance cracks. The real thing underneath starts showing through.\n\n\n\n\n\nBy the time they both realize what’s happened, the fake relationship has become the only true thing in either of their lives.
