The fourth in Maiman's Lambda Award^-winning series featuring romance writer turned sleuth Robin Miller has her setting out to prove her lover's friend innocent of murdering Brian, a glitzy fashion photographer with unsuspected sidelines and proclivities. When photos are found of a right-wing politician in compromising positions with a gay activist, the action speeds from breezy Provincetown, Massachusetts, to sweltering New York City to bustling Washington, D.C., where Miller finds herself literally shut in a closet for her own good. Throughout this complicated novel, Miller bears the grief of accidentally killing her sister as a child and of her subsequent suspiciousness about close relationships, which colors every step she takes closer to the truth and farther away from her lover. A page-turner sure to excite current fans and win many new ones. Whitney Scott
