About the Author

LJ Maas passed away October 29, 2005, leaving behind a legion of fans and friends who were devastated by her untimely loss. Not only a gifted storyteller and author, LJ Maas was a gentle soul who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. No matter how much time passes, we will always feel the void that was created when she left this life.

Her spirit lives on in her writing, however, and we have done our best to preserve her voice while this book may have been edited differently, but without her input, we have chosen to keep things as they were orginally written.

We must give special thanks to the one person who was affected more than anyone by LJ’s passing – C.B., her partner. She has worked as diligently as anyone to bring LJ’s work back into print. I think LJ would be extremely pleased with C.B.’s efforts.

We love you, C.B. Thank you for sharing this gift.
