An ethnography of the academic practices of three lesbian faculty members at ‘Liberal U.,’ a public research university. Drawing on poststructural theory, Susan Talburt moves beyond ideas of lesbian faculty based on identity, voice and visibility to examine how research, teaching and relations with colleagues are made and remade in practice, and how knowledge, identity and sexuality shape one another.
