Elizabeth Lovatt revisits the women who called and volunteered for the Lesbian Line telephone helplines in 1990s Britain, drawing on the logbooks of their calls about crushes, breakups, relationships, health and how to find a gay bar, and presents them as a celebration of ordinary queer women's lives. Alongside, she tells her own story, from an unplanned coming out and awkward early dates to finding her chosen family, and considers how lesbian identity is changing in the twenty-first century.
